How can you depict the symbolic significance of an animal?

This probably isnt what your looking for but I just thought I'd share my opinion. An animal is an animal, it doesnt have to represent anything, it is apart of nature. Why would an animal have anything to do with the moon or sun? Its all a big circle, Everything is everything. No one animal represents one thing.
