NSHSS is a scam; they exist solely to collect membership fees and give out a token scholarship or two. NYLF is a similar scam. Neither is going to do anything for your application; you should be spending your money doing something impressive instead. It's very late to try to get something published at this point; that can take years, and only getting something published looks good, not just writing something. Basically, you're an average applicant at best for a top school. You can try, but be more realistic about your chances.
